Water Filter Replacement April 17, 2008
The handle was too big for my coffee maker so we hd to use the old one which is a few months old. The water filters work well though and I received them in a hurry.
They do the job March 28, 2008 I think these water filters make the coffee taste better if the water has chlorine. When the BrewStation was 2 months old, we thought the coffee wasn't tasting as good. I popped a filter in without telling my wife and she asked if I got a new brand of coffee because it was so good. We also have an undersink filter, but I think it needed replacement as well, which I have since done. If you think these cost too much, use bottled water.
Took the chlorine taste out January 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a pack of filters at Target for $9.99, where I bought my coffee pot. The filters greatly improve the taste of the coffee since our water has a lot of chlorine. The only problem is the filter handle was too tall for the new model HB brewstation pot I bought, so I simply used a hack saw on the handle and wet sanded the end down to smooth it out and the outcome looks factory made...is American ingenutiy dead?...not with me! I think the price of $10 is still too high for the two filters and handle as I feel $6-8 would be more appropriate and palatable. The reason the handle comes with the pack of pods is that some coffee pots don't come readily equiped with either the filters or handle, though they are built with the hole to install them. I surmise HB decided to create a one-pack for all purposes instead of having two packs, one with pods only and one with pods and a handle...makes sense to me, though it would be nice to have an option to buy a 3 or 4 pack of filter pods only, but you can't have everything I guess.
Its a filter! December 1, 2007 If you need one - then you buy one - it probably does something - but won't change your life.
Hamilton Beach Water Filter October 27, 2007 I've taken my water filter out of my coffee maker and it tastes the same to me. Sometimes I put it in, and sometimes I leave it out. And, today, I left it out.
I don't think the plastic filter holder sets low enough in the reservoir anyway. Has anyone tried cutting off the legs? There are gaps in the plastic holder that allows water to seep down into the machine, without being filtered. Personally, I don't think this filter is worth the price.
