I remember when I was around 13yrs old my parents had this grill and waffle maker and I used it every opportunity I got. Well my co-workers and I wanted to by a grill to make grill cheese and I stumble upon it and I had to purchase it brought back memories now @ 37yrs. old. It works wonderful, some old school product are still the best like this one...

I'm really happy with this unit. I've wanted a waffle maker for a while, but it was hard to justify the expense and kitchen real estate for such a limited-used appliance. I jumped on this one as soon as I saw it, since it really is 3-in-1. It works great as a waffle iron; the waffles are thin and cook just right. I actually use it most for sandwiches, as it makes any regular sandwich suddenly much tastier in just a few minutes. It also works well as a griddle, and I have made pancakes and eggs on it.
I can't say enough about how great the removable plates are for cleaning. They are remarkably nonstick in the first place, but taking them off and cleaning them is incredibly easy. It's a snap to switch between the waffle side and the grill/griddle side, too.
In short, I find myself leaving this out on my counter and using it all the time, due to the multi-functionality and the ease of cleaning. I highly recommend it.

My mother had a waffle maker like this one, passed down from her mother. Shortly after I became an adult, the heating element of hers finally died and I was left waffle-less for several years. Then I found this. I was happy.
I don't know how, but the quality has changed dramatically over the years, despite looking essentially the same. My mother's/grandmother's waffles NEVER stuck to the plates--even a few times when they were left in until completely charred, they peeled right out without any trouble. THIS product, however, has the ability to permanently glue any substance into its tiny crevices, regardless of how well cooked. Even better is the fact that BOTH plates have equal sticking power, making it such that every time you open the iron expecting a waffle, you instead get a view of the inside of what should have been your waffle.
Others have mentioned that no amount of oil will prevent sticking--I'd like to qualify that: if you use 2-8 tbsp of crisco on each plate prior to making 1-2 sets of waffles, you will _probably_ be able to peel at least the first one off.

Just what I had been looking for and could not find in a retail store.Had a waffle baker and grill like this years ago and could not find a replacement locally. Will check Amazon first from now on.
