We love our FoodSaver! What really "sealed" the deal (pun intended) was when we also purchased the jar attachments. Though they're a bit hard to find, if you can locate some 2-quart canning jars you'll multiply your savings even more. To be honest, we saw too many low reviews of the FoodSaver branded plastic containers so we didn't get any. But the canning jars won't crack over time like the FoodSaver containers apparently do, and the jars (1/2 gallon each) can store a lot of things in a compact area. And using the supplied as well as additional plastic bags we've already purchased (get both sizes!!), we've found more and more uses for the device. There's a bit of a learning curve at first, and there will be a few wasted bags in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, this is one of those "must have" kitchen appliances even if you don't do a lot of canning normally - you'll save money and time with this unit. Just take some time once you receive it, learn the procedures, and soon it becomes almost effortless to get great results.A bonus is that it will store standing straight up.

I have had it for a while. Since the second time I used it, it only works about 60% of the time from. The other 40% of the time it doesn't create a vacuum, so it's completely useless. Don't buy it, it will drive you crazy.

I LOVE IT.....WORKS GREAT, LOOKS GREAT, AND DOES NOT TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE WHICH I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF.

We have had the unit for about 7months and it works great, no issues. Seal it, mark it and pop it into the freezer. Great for frost free freezers as it extends the shelf life of the food.

I love this foodsaver, super easy to use. I taught my 9 year old how to use it.
I've saved a bit on veggies, I cook extra each meal and freeze left-overs after sealing them.
I've sealed cereal bags, chip bags, candy bags etc.... I've only had one of those not seal properly as the bag was too wrinkled.
Absolutly worth the money paid.
