Hamilton Beach Ice cream maker July 31, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Although I have not used the Hamilton Beach ice cream maker, I am sure I will enjoy it. I purchased the ice cream maker because of the good reviews and I feel sure that I will enjoy it just as much.
Best ice cream you'll ever have March 9, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this product on a really hot summer day when I was craving ice cream but wanted something fat-free and sugar-free and finding a product like that in the store seems impossible. This machine is awesome! Not only did it make delicious fat free, sugar free ice cream, it also made amazing real ice cream! The recipe book it comes with has lots of great flavors you can make and with a little creativity you can make many more! The product works well, is super easy to use, cleans up with warm water and is something I find myself using all the time. If you buy this, you won't be disappointed. My only advice is keep the cylinder in the freezer all the time. That way, you never have to wait to have homemade ice cream in minutes!
Outstand Little ice Cream Maker! December 9, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Ice cream maker is outstanding. And so inexpensive. Forget all the negative reviews here. The top locks on very securely, it operates very quietly, and makes ice cream quick and deliscious. So easy to clean fast. The motor top is plastic encase so it can be rinsed off. The bowl rinses quickly too. No one mentioned in the other reviews that it holds a freeze for almost 2 hours. Time enough to make a second batch of ice cream on the one freeze. Heck...for $29 you really can't go wrong. Im making 4 batches of it for the holidays.
A disappointing purchase September 15, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Hamilton Beach Ice cream maker is going to be a disappointment if you are attempting to make ice cream in a warm climate (such as here in Key West ) without the AC turned on. I couldnt get the HB to get the ice cream cold enough even though the container was cooled in the freezer at maximum setting for 48 hours and was additionally insulated with a towel. It ended up as soft ice cream. I cant recommend this product.
WASTED $$; Piece of Junk August 19, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
EXTREMELY disappointed. We just purchased this LAST week. It took nearly TEN minutes to affix the lid to the frozen base. I cannot imagine a slightly weaker person {e.g., senior citizen, etc.} trying to maneuver the lid to get the arms in the locking/upright position.
Adding insult to injury, we thought it was finally snug enough; alas, once we put the cord in the outlet, turned it on, and started pouring the mixture into the INCREDIBLY RIDICULOUS small mouth opening [[as per instructions--the machine is supposed to be already turned on and churning and THEN you add your chilled ice cream mixture :o( ]], within about 5 minutes or so, the motor started making a funny/loud noise. Upon running back into the kitchen, imagine our dismay to see the lid/motor shifting after all the work it took to get the doggone thing to fit--clearly, it was not a 100% fit--although it looked snug @ the time.
Anyway, after reviewing the 600+ reviews for the Cuisinart, we are going to try that one. Such a waste and very frustrated after spending good money on a piece of junk.
