Product Description This newly designed toaster provides toasting consistency through reduced airflow through the toasting cavity. The optimized heating element design provides even bread toasting. Toasting cavity is deeper than most so large bread fits completely inside and toasts evenly from top to bottom. Digital display provides shade indicator and is controlled with a simple to use knob. Special cycles are possible such as Baker's Bagel Toasting and warming cycle. polycarbonate housing Warming cycle Bagel function Digital display Extra Wide Slots 1-year warranty White
Amazon.com Review This compact two-slot toaster from KitchenAid comes with a menu of toasting features and a sturdy, user-friendly structure. KitchenAid's Even Heat system automatically adjusts the heavy-gauge heating elements, so toast comes out consistently, even in large batches. A bagel function toasts the cut side of bagels, while simply warming the crusts, and a warming function gently reheats previously toasted foods. The Easy Lift lever and Soft Rise feature are both helpful when lowering slices or raising them to a graspable height. Notably wide and deep, the self-centering dual slots accommodate thick slices of brioche or fat bagels. Other handy details include a dial for shade control, "cut side" markings for bagel toasting, power indicator lights, a dishwasher-safe crumb tray, and power cord storage hooks. The toaster's stainless-steel interior and polycarbonate housing are built to last and easy to clean. The unit measures 11 by 7-3/4 by 6-3/4 inches. --Emily Bedard

Good basic toaster December 16, 2008 I am pleased with my toast which is what is important. Unlike other reviews that I have read, I only have to set mine on 4 instead of darker. It toasts pretty evenly on both sides, good pop up. Not a lot of bells and whistles, pretty much basic. The bagel function works well but I don't need the warm button, at least not so far. Same toast every time. What do I want? A lower price would be nice, a longer warranty would be nice, but I am a dreamer. I would recommend.
Pretty Red Toaster December 7, 2008 KTT340ER Classic 2-Slice Empire Red Toaster We ordered the red toaster to replace one that was 70 years old. Most of our appliances are KitchenAid and we are not disappointed with this purchase. We are delighted with our new pretty, red toaster. It is beautiful to look at and does a great job of making toast. We love the adjustable slots. Mo We love the way it looks. We even refer to it as our "Pretty, red toaster."
Nothing special November 30, 2008 I bought this toaster because Consumer reports said it was a good buy and that it toasted even, I find that it is not much better than the better model Cuisinart toaster that I had, but I do admit that it did a FAIR job of even toasting, but not worth the price for what you get, very plain and basic! Had I known I would have put up with a little uneven toast and saved 50 buck's
LOUSY TOASTER October 14, 2008 The toaster does not toast well - have to push it down twice just to get toast once.
browning problems October 12, 2008 I keep my bread in the freezer for added freshness, unfortunately this toaster doesn't brown frozen bread very well. I have to set the brown-ness setting all the way to black and it gives it an OK toastiness. Usually I have to retoast a few minutes longer to get a good brown-ness. I'm sure if your bread is not frozen it works fine.
