Product Description
The KitchenAid KFPSL6 6MM (Thick) Slicing Disc fits models KFP500 KFP600 KFP650 KFP670 KFP690 KFPM650

Amazon.com Review
This slicing disk is 6 mm thick and made specifically for quick and easy slicing of almost anything that you would use a knife for; it's excellent, for example, for preparing meat and cheese trays where even and symmetrical slices are imperative. The disk fits a variety of KitchenAid processor sizes and is easy to install and remove. As a note of caution, the electrical source should always be disconnected when cleaning, as the blade is extremely sharp and can cause injury. --Teresa Simanton

3 out of 5 stars Nice blade, wrong part   September 22, 2008
I purchased this for my 12-cup food processor and it was not the correct fit. This was not KitchenAid's or Amazon's fault. Be sure when buying this that you have the star connector, not the D-shaped one that the new models use. If you have the D-shaped connector look for part KFP7SL6 instead. (At the time of writing this Amazon did not have the item listed and I had to purchase it directly from KitchenAid.)

5 out of 5 stars I learned the hard way   August 13, 2008
I learned the hard way that there is a reason one should empty the processor bowl when it's full - because when it gets TOOOOO full the high-speed spinning action has a tendency to affix the blade to the lid. Oops! This was certainly not a fault of the machine - just a failure of the operator. I purchased a new slicing disk and a new lid, and the Kitchenaid motor keeps on keeping on. I have owned a number of food processors over the years, but once I went to Kitchenaid, I never looked back. I highly recommend this blade (and quite a few more) - but in the meantime, if you're a first time user, please keep in mind that they write those directions for a purpose. Now I am very attentive to how full the bowl gets. (The red cabbage was a hit at a family gathering. All was not lost!)
