Product Description Rummaging around a kitchen drawer for the right slicing blade can be a risky undertaking. The solution to disorganization and possible bodily injury is this specially designed holder.
Amazon.com Review This simple unit provides safe, convenient, and attractive countertop storage for three Cuisinart blades and three cutting disks. It's designed to be used as stand-alone storage or side by side with Cuisinart's supplemental disk holder. The effective tamper-resistant locking device must be pulled out and twisted 90 degrees to access the cutting tools, and it automatically relocks when the lid is closed. Blades cannot be accessed via the open bottom, and disks can only be removed through the locking top. Moreover, when all three storage slots are occupied, the cutting edges of each disk are completely protected. Each blade holder is shaped to snugly fit its designated blade. High-impact plastic and external surfaces are smooth and curved to facilitate cleaning. --Toni Reineke

Locked Itself- Permanently! September 11, 2008 A blade holder is a great idea. I like the idea that it keeps the blades safe. Unfortunately, my disc holder locked itself permanently and I had to take the unit apart to get to my blades and discs. Cuisinart needs to upgrade the quality of the locking mechanism.
Nice Addition September 8, 2008 Cuisinart Blade and Disc HolderGreat addition and nice storage unit. Case can be difficult to open with switch; however, that is the design. Really beats digging in drawers for blades; also helps prevent cuts and keeps blades cleaner. We will purchase more as we acquire more blades; Very impressed with Cuisinart products.
BE CAREFUL!!! September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product works well in storing your blades and other parts, but good luck getting them out of there! Once the top closes, it locks shut, preventing your items from jumping out? In order to unlock the lid you have to pull this teeny tiny knob and then turn it WHILE you are pulling. The problem here is that there is no grip on this knob, and if you are in the kitchen, half the time your hands are soaking wet or greasy, so with no grip on this knob, you can run into some trouble. To alleviate this problem, I've replaced the knob with one similar to that of pin ball shooter, it has a convex shape with a knob at one end, giving you better leverage when opening the lid.
There is just one last thing I will say about this too, BE CAREFUL WHEN PICKING IT UP. Don't put your hand through the bottom like I did and slice open your finger!!! There is no base to the base of this product, meaning when you pick it up from the bottom, all the blades are protruding from beneath it!
I'm giving this thing 2 stars, one for doing it's job of storing things, and one for the price. The other three missing stars are for the horrible design flaws in this item.
Cuisinart blade and disc holder July 28, 2008 The product is great for storing the extra blades and discs. The only thing I have experienced that gave me difficulty is that it's hard to open because the lock is very stiff.
Handy holder for the extras July 21, 2008 The caddy for all of the Cuisinart discs and blades is great. I no longer open a cabinet and have them falling on my feet. It organizes everything and allows you to retrieve them easily. It is not an essential but it makes handling these items a pleasant experience, not a frustrating one.
