A Versitile Toaster from Down Under November 23, 2008 We've had this toaster for about two months now and are very happy with it. It's sturdy construction and good looks are a plus, aside from the fact that it makes great toast. The bagel and defrost features work well and our guests get a kick out of the "a bit more" button, which comes in handy at times. The plug is a unique design as well, makes it easy to plug and unplug when necessary. After seeing this toaster in action, we haven't thought twice about the price.
Shipping Costs November 16, 2008 The toaster is super, however, if I had purchased it directly from Breville, I would have had no S&H costs - $12.50. Jack
Great toaster October 7, 2008 This is a great toaster. I've been researching toasters for almost a year and had been spoiled by my 20 year old, self-lowering Sunbeam toaster. I tried the Braun 600 several months ago, but it performed poorly and was immediately returned. This Breville 2 slice Smart Die-Cast Toaster is wonderful. It's features are actually quite simple and not over-the-top with useless functions no one would ever use. It's a real winner.
The best toaster I've ever used. October 5, 2008 Breville comes thru again with a top quality toaster. In fact it's the best I've ever seen, or used. When you pick it up and find out how much it weighs, you know you're dealing with a toaster on a different level than you've ever dealt with before. Its all electronic contols get you the toast, bagels, etc. just the way you want. Toasters don't get any better than this one; in fact don't even come close.
Best damn toaster . . . September 21, 2008 This is the best damn toaster I have ever owned. Excuse my language, but it is hard to express ones delight over a toaster without getting a little emotional. And why get emotional over a toaster, well, one of the little items that can get in the way of a perfect day is having a toaster not do its job in the morning. We have gone through a new toaster every few years and buying a new one after some tragic morning incident. '
This is the tops. The plug is larger than most, because it's better than most. It sticks out maybe 1/2" more than a standard plug, but it's easier to remove from the outlet and speaks of quality. The toaster is wonderful, heavy duty, like one you would find at a professional restaurant. It is built solid, heavy metal and looks great.
The toaster does it's job and more. The bagel function is great, I even use it on my BLT's to toast one side of the bread and not the other. The automatic centering and lowering of the toast is excellent. The "little bit more" feature is cute and functional. My wife even has a hard time buring the toast, because she can get the exact browning she likes. The countdown LEDS really help when getting the toast out of the toaster when the eggs are done, I know exactly when the toast will be ready. And the chime remings me when the toast is done, because it is so quiet.
They should require the govenment to work this well!
