Product Description This is a multi-purpose serving piece. Not only can it brew you a pot of coffee, and keep it hot, it can also serve as a stylish pitcher for water, juice, milk and so on.
Amazon.com Review By doing away with filters and cones, this 23-ounce French press from Frieling makes rich, delicious coffee in a self-contained, non-electric design. The press also smartly sidesteps the problem of breakable glass carafes with its high-quality 18/10 stainless-steel construction. At once beautiful, sleek, and sturdy, the mirror-finish piece has a satisfying weight, a comfortable full-length handle, and an all-steel mesh plunger mechanism ideal for coarse coffee grounds or loose tea leaves. Frieling's double-wall construction keeps hot beverages hot and cold ones cold if you use the pitcher by itself for milk or juice. Standing 8-5/8 inches high, the press disassembles completely for washing by hand or running through the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard

Fabulous, well-constructed press November 20, 2008 Like many others here, I broke one too many glass carafes and decided to try a stainless French press instead. I looked at the Bodum stainless press, which I thought was quite cute, but it had a little plastic gasket around edge of the plunger. Probably this helps to make the plunger fit better, but I don't like the idea of putting plastic in my coffee everyday. So I bought the Frieling because it didn't have any plastic parts. This coffee press is rock solid. It's made entirely of stainless steel, inside and out. It seems very sturdy and is dishwasher safe. It makes great coffee and does keep the coffee hotter than the glass press (no, you couldn't leave it in there for hours and expect it to stay hot, but that isn't the point of a French press anyway). I think it's going to be worth the investment. I hope not to have to buy a new French press for a very long time.
great french press October 23, 2008 I love the taste of the coffee in this pot. Looks great, easy to clean. Big enough for one or two people. Doesn't stay warm long, but that is expected from a french press. I recommend it highly.
Great but not Perfect October 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had the Frieling 5-6 cup French Press for one week when it stopped working, something with the plunger was broken. The first 6 days were great- after water is boiled, you have coffee in 4 minutes which tastes richer than through a general coffee maker.
I contacted Frieling, and through e-mail conversation with an Inventory Specialist we were able to discern what piece was broken: the bottom piece of the plunger, or cross. I received this response from Frieling: "Please send your mailing information and we will ship you a new cross next week. Sorry for any trouble this may have caused."
After I got the new piece, everything worked great again- back to great coffee!
Frieling french press - GREAT September 8, 2008 This is the perfect product, works great, easy to clean, and is really good looking!
The best press you can buy September 6, 2008 I prefer my coffee made with a french press. Call me a coffee snob if you want to but I just think it tastes better. When I bought my first press, it was a glass carafe kind and I think I replaced the glass about 6 or 7 times before I looked for an alternative. I stumbled across this press in a store somewhere about 5 years ago and bought it on the spot. I worried about the price just a little because it is easily 2 or 3 times the cost of the glass carafe presses. You get what you pay for though because this same one is still going strong and I use it daily - sometimes several times a day. This size is perfect for 2 people who like 2 generous cups each. The stainless steel keeps the coffee warm until you are ready for the second cup. The carafe and plunge assembly are dishwasher safe and DURABLE. 5 years and still going strong. I am looking for a larger one for when we have company but for day to day use - nothing beats this press. Worth every penny.
