What Happened? October 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this cooker to replace my older Presto Options cooker that I absolutely loved. It was my favorite for stew, spaghetti sauce and any other dishes that need to simmer slowly. This piece of junk doesn't seem to have any temperature below boil! Trying to simmer something is a nightmare. If you want to simmer, you have to set the control to "warm." And for some reason they changed the cord to a two part magnet thing that keeps coming off. The picture showed the old control that I had on my older Presto cooker but when it came, it had this new control. What happened to this great product?
fry happy !! October 9, 2008 Had an older version from about 10 yrs ago finally kick the bucket\. Bought this model & I love it, I use it mainly for frying chicken wing dings & its great.
Do it all cooker! September 13, 2008 This cooker is the best thing I've bought in years! The first day it got here I cleaned it out, bought some oil and used it as a deep fryer. It was literally ready to go in a few minutes. It gets really hot really fast. It has a nice little dial on it like an oven so you can set your tempature to whatever you need. A couple of days later I decided to make some rice. I dumped out the oil, took it apart, which was kindergarten simple, and washed it by hand in about 5 minutes. Easy to use, easy to clean! I love it and would absolutely recommend it. Actually I'm buying another one for my stepmom. Once she seen it she wanted it too! Buy this one people! You won't be disappointed.
flaky pot July 28, 2008 I gave this for a Christmas present to my wife The Cooking Fiend in 2007 and she "purely loved" it. The temperature control was the best feature. She could perfectly sear a small pot roast and braise it in the same pan. It made soup outstandingly every single week. She used it many times every week. It worked great for deep-frying bluegill too. She cleaned it occasionally in the dishwasher but usually by hand, no abrasives. Imagine our dismay when she saw the non-stick finish flaking off. She just about cried, because while some may call us flaky folks, we do not use flaky cookware. So I'm on the hunt for something more durable. What a shame!
Wow!! Does What the Others Can't Do!!! June 18, 2008 This unit deep fries, steams, boils, sautes, slow cooks and even roasts!!
It's a very versatile helper and a marvel in the kitchen! I've used it for just about everything imaginable!!
I truly like the fact that when you're done using it, you can wash it by hand or in the dishwasher with the heat control removed, of course. Great little appliance!!
