Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Now you can have matchstick julienne carrots or cheese, a sectioned and cored apple, or a pile of neatly cut French fries in no time at all. This multi slicer features oversized non-slip handles and three slicer inserts. All you do is load the insert of choice and snap it securely to the bottom of the slicer housing, place food on a cutting board, and apply downward pressure to the handles of the slicer to push it through the food.

Amazon.com Review
This slicing gadget is a supplement to a food processor, performing slicing jobs that most food processors can't do well with disc inserts. The tool comes with three different square stainless-steel inserts that snap into the two-handed slicer. Aligning the slicer over food and then pushing down by hand cuts the food into the desired shape. The pie-shaped insert is ideal for coring apples or pears, while the two grid-shaped inserts cut potatoes for French fries or dices other cooked vegetables in either thick or thin widths. The ergonomic handles have comfortable Santoprene grips that keep the slicer from slipping out of your hands. Inserts are all dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. --Cristina Vaamonde

5 out of 5 stars Easy slicing   April 9, 2008
After a visit with my daughter, I had to purchase this wonderful slicer. I have always been a loyal fan of KitchenAid products. I never thought a slicer could work so well or be such an asset to the kitchen. I use it daily to core apples. I also use it at least once a week to make homemade fries. Always works well and is easy to store as well as easy to clean. I highly recommend this item.

We really bought this to make real potatoes deep fryed really love it. With the different cutters. Loved it so much bought a second one for our cabin at the lake. I havent tried the apple cutter yet. With it being kitchenaid product also that was a plus.I had one real close to this for 20years but it finally gave out.

Amazing how many things you can do with this little thing. Bought a caramel apple and had initially forgotten about it, but it makes the perfect cuts to regular and candied apples, and a great many other things.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth it   October 15, 2006

I bought this to simplify making fries, it was a disappointment. It takes a lot of effort to push through a potato, and when it does go through it most likely won't go straight. Either save your money and use a knife, or spend more and get a mandoline.

2 out of 5 stars Just not a good item   September 28, 2006

I just don't like this item. Got it as a wedding gift and have hardly used it because it sucks, plain and simple. Don't buy. There are others out there that are better. NOT KitchenAid quality here!!!
