Amazon.com Review Grilling burgers, chicken, fish, steaks, and Italian-style sandwiches (panini) with no fuss or mess is easy with this handsome, chrome-clad, countertop grill. The top and bottom grilling plates make cooking twice as fast as in a pan, impart appetizing grill marks, and, with their nonstick coating, release food easily and wipe clean with a cloth. Key to the grill's professional performance is a floating hinge system that automatically adjusts to a food's thickness for even grilling top and bottom. The grill's handle stays cool during operating, indicator lights show when the grill is on and when the proper cooking temperature has been reached, and the latch locks for compact, upright storage. The grill carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

No shut off switch?! September 6, 2008 I have had the Krups Panini Grill for several years but have not used it more than about a dozen times. It worked well whenever i used it. i just can't understand that it does not have a switch to turn it on or off. I always have to plug it into the electrical outlet and unplug it to turn it off. That's more then inconvenient, it is plain dumb. May be the newer models have been changed and come with a switch.Krups FDE312-75 Universal Grill and Panini Maker
Krups Panini Machine January 20, 2008 This is our first panini machine and we're very happy with the Krups machine. It heats up quickly, does its job, and is easy to clean up.
Great gift! January 18, 2008 I received this Krups Panini grill for Christmas and absolutely love it! It grills beautifully and is so easy to clean and store.
krups panini maker January 12, 2008 This is the second one I have purchased, this one as a gift. Sometimes a little sticky to clean, but makes a nice panini, stores easily, and we have enjoyed lots of use. Good value for the money
A panini grill that lives up to its description! November 24, 2007 As soon as I received my Krups grill and panini maker, I immediately began using it. I have to say, it is absolutely fantastic! What talked ME into purchasing this particular model was a review in one of my women's magazines comparing it to a similar George Foreman grill, and the review raved about the Krups grill. It is so easy to use. So far I have only ventured to make a couple of different types of panini sandwiches, but they've been very flavorful. The sky is pretty much the limit as far as what you want to put in your sandwich. Ciabatta is the recommended bread to use for a panini (according to most of the recipes I've found), but I think you can probably use virtually any type of bread or roll. The unit adjusts to handle any thickness of bread as you close the lid. It also has lights to tell you when the grill is ready to use, and when your sandwich is done! No guessing or having to constantly lift the lid to see if it is done, and no burned sandwiches! The only negative aspect I have found to making a panini is that the sandwich filling remains cold, even after grilling - but I'm sure that would be true of any panini grill, since the maker just grills the outside of the bread. I don't know why I thought the entire sandwich, inside and out, would be hot. I suppose if your filling is already hot when you assemble and grill your sandwich, then it would stay hot or at least warm when you bite into it, since it takes mere minutes to make a sandwich. Although clean-up is easy (just wipe down the grill plates), my only suggestion for improvement would be that the grill plates were removable and dishwasher-safe. But I would definately recommend this product if you are looking for a good panini grill at a very good price!
