Amazon.com Review Combining the adjustable fineness selector of Krups's burr grinder with its built-in quantity control produces the perfectly tailored cup of joe. Start by choosing from 17 different textures ranging from very fine for espresso machines to very course for use in a French press. Next, determine the number of coffee drinkers and adjust the quantity setting accordingly. As the grinder begins its work, it uses a burr milling process to produce consistently ground beans while preserving the coffee's natural aroma. The machine automatically stops once the designated quantity has been achieved and the coffee extracts easily via a removable container. Topped with a large capacity hopper, the grinder fills effortlessly and provides easy access to its removable burr for cleaning. Measuring 10 by 4-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, this tool comes with Krups's 1-year warranty. -- Amy Arnold

motor is weak November 25, 2008 I purchased this machine at Starbucks because I thought they knew something about coffee. I was wrong! The motor is too weak and the machine constantly stalls out (set at medium). I have to hold it and shake it every time I want to grind coffee and re-push the start button every minute. I am looking for a machine with a more powerful motor and I am willing to pay more.

One grind grinder November 9, 2008 This coffee grinder ground coffee the same consistency despite the setting. It didn't work for a french press as it was not coarse enough.
Dissapointed in the short life-span November 8, 2008 This grinder is smallish, quiet, and grinds evenly... for a while. After about a year (during which it has been cleaned regularly), it stopped taking beans into the grind mechanism - resulting in an uneven amount of ground coffee. In addition, it is also very messy - grounds get all over the place around the grinder while it is working, worse than other grinders I've used. Very frustrating... definitely not worth the price.
Not good for the price October 26, 2008 I had to return it. It does not grind well (as in coarse) enough for french press, makes a lot of dust instead. Receptacle container is made of cheap plastic that causes coffee grounds and dust cling to it.
If you're looking for a garden variety grinder for medium fineness (for drip), $15 blade-type models would do the job for a fraction of price.
grind select failed, then timer October 23, 2008 I bought this item about 18 months ago. After about a year of use, the grind selection failed, and it always produces a rather coarse grind. Then more recently the timer has stopped working, so I count to fifteen and turn it off by hand. This was a very inexpensive burr grinder, and while surely I was unlucky, it was too good to be true.
