Fairly good quality July 7, 2008
I got this knife set to round out our KitchenAid 'red' collection. So far, I have owned these knives for over a year. They continue to hold up fairly well, even taking the abuse of the dishwasher when I am too lazy to hand wash them. I periodically resharpen all of my knives and they do seem to hold their edge. No knife will hold its edge forever and they do require maintenance. Sure, they are not top of the line knives, but they do get the job done. I would recommend these knives to anyone wanting affordable knives that hold up well.
 Great set of Knives April 4, 2008
I bought these a few months ago, and absolutly love them. Cut very nice and sharpen nicely. The red carousel is more burgandy than anything, but it still looks nice on the counter. Highly recommend.
Good Not Great February 8, 2008
I had to sharpen some of the knives the first time I used them but they work pretty well (I have a deep cut in my finger to prove it). They look great on my counter, too.

I thought this set matched my other kitchen aid and "red" appliances perfectly. I was a little worried reading the other reviewers, but was pleasantly surprised. It is a little on the maroon side, but so are all the other "red" kitchen things I have purchased. I have no complaints, and I think they are much better then the more expensive kitchen aid knives I'm replacing with these.

The knives are well made and very sharp. Time will tell whether or not they will hold an edge but judging by Kitchenaid's past performance I don't expect any problems in that respect. The carosel is very attractive sitting on the kitchen counter, however, if it is under a cabinet it must be moved to remove the longer knives. Overall, I am pleased with this product and would buy it again.
