Apart from looking really cool, bamboo cutting boards are the hottest thing to happen in kitchenware.  Premium, practical, good looking cutting surface March 5, 2010

This is an excellent product. Love the large design with recessed perimiter for catching meat juices, etc. Big enough for prime rib, turkey and chicken carving. Great looking, easy on knives and will last a long time. It looks so good you'll have a hard time cutting on it the first time. It's worth the money and would make a great gift. I love it.

After a few months one of the 'raw bamboo' end pieces warped and started to separate from the 'steamed bamboo' body. Now it wobbles on the counter unless I put a towel under it. The grooved edge seemed like it would be convenient but all it seems to do is make the board harder to wipe clean. On the plus side, the surface has held up very well. I will probably replace it with a flat, solid bamboo board.

The finish on this board is great; very smooth and no jagged edges or splinters. Also looks great and is great for blade edges. You can use the flat side for dry cutting and the grooved side for anything juicy.
