Difficult to drink November 26, 2008 I liked the styling and idea of this product, but was very disappointed in performance. You have to turn the bottle completely upside down to get water in to the filter, and it comes out in small amounts. I found it difficult to get enough water to quench my thirst. Too much work!
Who ever thought drinking water would be this hard? October 15, 2008 I was excited to find a cool-looking replacement for my Brita pitcher that I could fill up as needed with fresh water. I didn't expect that drinking from this would be so hard though, it takes a lot of effort to get what seems like a few sips at a time.
Although the filter is treated with anti microbial agents, you also need to clean it with each use and store in a cool dry place. It makes me wonder what happens if you forget and leave it in the bottle?
I bought two initially, returned one after my hubby wisely pointed out any decent office will have a water cooler.
I gave up after only two uses and decided to install a Brita water filter on my faucet which has been extremely effective and given me great results. Brita 42201 On Tap Filtration System, White/White
Great for office desk, but not home August 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great bottle to keep at my desk and refill with cold water from the building's drinking fountain. Water from the fountain where I work tastes terrible, and this bottle filters out the bad taste quite well. It's not meant to purify unsafe water, just improve the taste of water from the faucet, and it does that well for me.
At home, I'd definitely keep a Brita or similar pitcher in the fridge rather than using this small squeeze bottle, and for hiking a regular sports bottle filled from that pitcher is lighter, holds more, and is more leakproof. This bottle is perfect for situations like my office though, or anywhere you're fairly sedentary but can't keep a pitcher of water cool. The drinking procedure took a little getting used to (as other reviewers point out, you must squeeze water into your mouth rather than sipping), but I got used to it quickly. I'd rather squeeze this bottle than spend $1 per disposable bottle for cold water from a vending machine.
Fit n Fresh, a little harder to use than bargained for. August 15, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Fit N Fresh 131FF LivPURE Filtered Water Bottle
I had seen this item in a magazine article, and in my quest to start recycling, reusing, and reducing. I decided to stop buying the usual water bottles that fill up our landfills. Since we had all started drinking more water once I started buying this style water bottles, I thought it would be terrible not to have some type of easy to grab style bottle in the fridge at all times.
Well, this idea seemed great, use the same plastic water bottle with a build in filter, that also didn't emit the same toxic chemicals that other water bottles claim to and can even be top shelf dishwashed. Wow, what a great concept.
The downside to this is, in order to actually get the water out of the water bottle you have to kind of squeeze and suck at the same time, so the water can process through the filter. It's very slow, and I ended up using so much energy to drink out of it, I never really drank from it. Consuming far less water than I'd like and feeling dehydrated by the end of the day.
My son seems to like it and my boyfriend has totally thrown in the towel with it too. I'm not likely to use it at all and spent almost $13 on each one. Thinking I'd be saving money in the long run, I actaully will end up losing money and not drinking nearly enough water in a day.
Not my type of water holder, I may go back to the old school water bottles. Then let my son use the other two water bottles in his time. Not a total loss, but I'll buy one experimental item next time, instead of all three.
great water bottle August 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this water bottle, I wish it would keep the water cold while I'm out and about during the day here in the Southwest. That is the only negative thing about the water bottle, I love that I can use water from the tap and refrigerate it and have cold water in the morning to take. I'm also not using plastic bottles that will be around forever in the landfill. I like doing my part to help save the earth.
