Editorial Review
Excellent as a first bike, the Ready-to-Ride comes in bright, friendly primary colors and the classic Radio Flyer stylings that remind parents of the little red tricycles of their youths. As with all Radio Flyer trikes, the Ready-to-Ride is built to last with a durable steel frame and heavy-duty treaded tires. Plastic bucket seats provide a comfortable ride and rubber handles offer a secure grip. Kids can tow a doll or load toys into the yellow storage bin on back and announce that they're coming through with the loud bell on the handlebar. Parents will appreciate the trike's low center of gravity and controlled turning radius that prevents it from tipping during speedy turns. The lightweight and portable Ready-to-Ride also easily folds up for storage and has a handy grip in the back of the seat for carrying or hanging. A reliable safety latch ensures that the trike won't begin to fold up midway through a ride. The Ready-to-Ride trike comes fully assembled and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

2 out of 5 stars not safe   October 21, 2008
I bought one at Target - my daughter was very excited and eager to jump on. Right after she sat on it and move foward it tipped right a way. We returned it in 5 minutes.

5 out of 5 stars We LOVE this trike!   July 23, 2008

My son has been zooming around on this since he was just shy of 2 yrs old. He couldn't pedal at first, so he just scooted himself around at first, so it's nice that it's not too big. Now that he is strong enough to pedal, he goes everywhere, quickly!

Yes, he has tipped over when he's tried to get around a corner too quickly, but that would happen on anything.. it's not a flaw with this bike. It's constructed very well, and he loves putting his collection of stuff in the yellow basket in the back. It's still in great shape after 2 yrs of use.

The down side is that the handlebars and seat are not adjustable, but for the price, it's perfect. He'll get a bigger one and we'll pass this one on to his younger brother.

Great bike!!

5 out of 5 stars tipping over? Not!   May 6, 2008

I don't know what kind of uncoordinated children some people have, but our twins, boy and girl at 1.5 years did just fine. Never tipped over once. Maybe it was because the kids stuck their feet out to catch themselves. Maybe it was because they didn't crank on the handlebar too hard.

And guess what? Kids fall. They get hurt and they learn not to crank on the handlebar too quickly. They learn how to adjust their balance and stick their feet out to catch themselves.

I don't know why anyone would get the idea that any vehicle, even a small little trike, should somehow have this magic bubble of protection that makes it absolutely impossible for children to get hurt. Use common sense parents! Its a bike. Of course a child could get hurt. If after 15 minutes of practice your kid still can't figure it out, hate to break it to you, but your kid needs a few more months of coordination development. Otherwise, even after a few falls, he'll probably get the hang of it and do just fine.

I can just picture the reviews for actual 2 wheeled bikes!

this was bought for my son for his 2nd birthday...and he just loves it! he keeps playing with it , trying to master the riding part of it and checking it out...it does NOT tip easy!

i was leary since others have said that their children tipped it...i guess it all in the child. but my son has had no problems with it and absolutely loves it!!

i very highly recommend!
