Not so good. October 30, 2008 I purchased this popper almost a year ago. You get mostly seeds back from the pan. They fly out while some kernnals pop. I tried putting less popcorn seeds in, but then it takes a lot longer to get enough to eat. Poor design, lets seeds pop out before they are ready. I used it about 10 times and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. I went back to the kettle on the stove and this popcorn popper is in the basement in storage. It is expensive too.
popcorn popper October 6, 2008 Can only make a very small amount of popcorn at a time. If you follow the directions on the popper in regards to amount of kernals of popcorn to make at one time, the popper jams and you have to dig the popped popcorn out. Also, you are then left with many unpopped kernals.
Good little workhorse August 10, 2008 Generally I'd say this is a good popper. I admit it took several batches (about 10) to find the 'right' popcorn and the right oil. I bought some specialized popping oil that is a blend including several different oils, including Coconut oil and betacarotine (which gives it that distinctive color) that finally made the cut. As others have said, smaller kernels tend to just get pushed out and wasted, so get a larger-kernel corn. Specialized popcorn topping also helps....combine all the factors and the well popped corn and it's as good as the movie theatre...but in smaller batches. Overall I'd recommend this but personally wonder if a larger version might not have been better (despite the counter space such a unit would make).
Wonderful popcorn! July 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this popper! I am a popcorn lover...especially theater popcorn. This little machine does the trick. I've popped up some beautiful, fluffy, yummy popcorn like I haven't been able to do in a pot on the stove. So far I am throughly happy with this lovely little popper. I use Orville Reddenbacher oil and popcorn. I found some popcorn salt at my local grocery store, but I've seen the salt and oil sold on Amazon too.
Great Buy June 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a simple popcorn maker with a classy look to it, then you have found it! Its compact enough to set just about anywhere but still is big enough to deal out enough popcorn. The Setup was easy (once you looked at the manual haha) and took not much time at all. Clean up is also fairly easy with this machine because its easy to de-assemble. Good buy all-around!
