Black and Decker is top of the line January 14, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My boyfriend uses this at his mountain home as his only cookware. It is wonderful. Top quality. Nonstick and doesn't peel. Arrived in perfect condition. I'd recommend this product.
Breakfast at last! February 28, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Title says it... I live in a very small place, here in San Francisco. It is one of the very few "common lodgings" without a community kitchen. I'd always done some limited cooking with a Forman Grill and an electric dutch oven/cooker but never got around to getting an electric skillet until just recently. I'd always missed my breakfasts and am an early riser. None of the coffee shops are open when I go to work. Circumstances dictated I need to cook more extensively at home. Ok, boot up and run a Google and there was my apparent perfect choice for all around general cooking in a pan. The Black and Decker Series 12" SKG 105 w/nonstick surface.
First run about an hour ago. I was a little worried about the 1200 watts popping circuit breakers so I started at a low 250 degs on the dial. The low temp was all I needed and the building took the juice just fine.
Warmup took less than 5 minutes with no apparent hot spots. Hash browned my own potato, and after the first flip in went the bacon... after the last flip went the eggs. I was worried about the eggs, they always stick.
Not to worry... everything came out great and the cleanup was truely a snap. Paper towels and a quick rinse was all that was needed.
Potato - $0.35 Bacon - $2.00 2 eggs - $0.35
Breakfast - Pricele$$
I wanted it for breakfast but for certain a quality steak, chops, chicken and just about anything else will do just fine with this thing. It is as advertised, NON STICK, even heating after warmup, very quick cooking and a very good deal for the price.
