THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY! May 20, 2010 J. A. Travis (St Louis, MO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this steamer in 1-10-10, I went to use it this month, and it would not work, on off button and timer would NOT work, when I called the Co. to replace it, they are out of stock. Don't know when they will be back in stock. They do not know! I only used it once a week, and I paid $70.00 plus extra Ins. DO NOT waste your money. My next one will be a 3 tear stainless, non electric, that goes on my stove top, Deni is my 4th steamer.Beware!!
Like a charm February 26, 2010 P. J. Larson (New York, NY United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was given one of these as a gift for Christmas 2009 and have used it every day since without a problem. I love how fast it begins to steam after you turn it on... no waiting for a large volume of water to boil.
It is specific in how the different trays can be stacked. If you try to put any tray but the one labeled "1" on the base unit, it will have a gap and perhaps that is where other people are getting leaks. I always use tray #1 on the bottom and never have any problem with leaks. It turns off after the time I set runs out... but it also has a nice "keep warm" mode that will periodically re-steam for a few seconds if you don't get to it right away.
I have convinced several of my friends to buy this steamer and have given several of them as gifts. It has changed the way I eat permanently... nothing is healthier than steamed vegetables and they simply taste great.
Positive Review for 7600 Steamer June 16, 2009 T. Lamberti (Houston TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My niece ordered this Food Steamer for me as a surprise. I had many concerns when I read the previous reviews while waitng for the steamer to arrive.
When it did arrive I was delighted to have called customer service so that I knew I was programming the clock correctly. The CS Rep also gave me some tips and added to the directions in the booklet.
Since then I started with steaming vegetable and then progressed to steaming using all three containers to do salmon and corn on the cob and other vegetable. It was fabulous. Then I went on to the real need for the steamer, making chinese pork dumplings [Dim Sum]. Once again, perfect steaming.
Setting the time in the beginning can be confusing but the Cus. Ser. folks will walk you thru it.
I don't use the programming feature because I would not leave anything electrical unattended.
I am totally enjoying this product and have made many wonderful foods in the month I have had it.
I recommend using Deni customer service to get started. They are great and really simplify the instructions. T. Lamberti Houston, TX
Piece of Junk June 7, 2009 venatrix (San Francisco, California, United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got this as a gift, and, frankly, wish I'd got nothing instead. The materials are cheap and the machine is temperamental. When it works, it works great, but trying to programme it is a nightmare. I've used it four times, and each time was so frustrated with setting the timer that I wanted to throw the machine at the wall. I'll be tossing this one in the bin soon and buying a different brand.
Great Steamer While It Lasts - Very Poor Reliability June 7, 2009 Megan (Virginia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband and I received this steamer as a wedding gift in February '09. I had wanted one for quite a while and was very excited to try it out. We've used it at least once a day since opening it.
The Good: It does a great job of steaming whether you use one, two or all three tiers.
The Bad: It stopped working today (June '09). Went through the trouble shooting tips that we could find online and were unable to get it working.
Conclusion: I am very glad that we received this steamer as a gift instead of spending our money on it. It worked great from February 09 through June 09. We will be replacing this steamer with one from another brand once we have a chance to do some research on it.
