Amazon.com Review This electric food chopper accomplishes a food processor's principal function of chopping and mincing without having to haul out the big machine. It's just 8 inches high and 4-3/4 inches in diameter, and its 3-cup bowl is ample for many chores in a family household and most chores in a one or two-person household. At 150 watts, the motor is powerful enough to chop or mince vegetables, fruits, herbs, cheese, nuts, chocolate, cooked meats, and bread. The power head has a soft grip for easy one-handed use. The rugged, plastic bowl; its slip-resistant base, which doubles as the bowl's lid for storing food; and the stainless-steel blade are all dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

This thing is the BOMB!! November 20, 2008 Can't believe I've gone so long in the kitchen without owning anything like this. . .don't have anything to compare it to. . .but COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with the price and THE PERFORMANCE. Don't hesitate to buy this. You will NOT be disappointed. . .a LIFESAVER in the kitchen!!!!!!!
No more tears!!!!! November 18, 2008 I LOVE this product!!!! I was given this as a gift and it has changed my chopping life! This little fella chops an onion in no time at all and traps all of the nasty "tear gasses" inside. Also, it chops vegetables to the perfect size without making them into puree. Further, the blade is strong enough for all the vegetables I have tried, including carrots! It is easy to clean and does not take up a lot of storage space! In all, this is one great deal!
Great for fresh salsa ! November 12, 2008 If you do things in small amounts you'll love this chopper. I leave it on the counter and use it a lot. Using the bowl with lid for easy storage is great. No muss, no fuss.
Great Little Tool November 12, 2008 I was lucky enough to purchase two of these from Amazon about 8 years ago for $9.95 each. I've always used it, but not regularly. As time passes, I have used it for more and more things. I think I forget about it sitting on the shelf and chop onions, parsley, etc.. myself. The only thing that it won't do, is make small, even, bread crumbs from fresh bread. What it makes is good enough to use in recipes for filler. Last night when I was washing it in the sink, I put the blade into the base with the soap. Somehow it got twisted and the blade lodged into the sides and refused to budge. My husband worked on it for sometime, and finally removed the blade, leaving deep gouges in the plastic container. Aside from the 'scars', it works fine and I've promised myself that I will use it more.
Love to cook, Allergic to Onions, So Happy with this Chopper! November 11, 2008 I've always loved to cook and I love to eat onions of all sorts and in so many recipes. Unfortunately, I've developed an allergic reaction to the odor of onions when using a knife to prep them by hand. I'm just a mess with excessive tearing and nasal congestion. It literally drives me out of the kitchen and to the medicine cabinet to eat antihistamines. It's become so bad, I dreaded cooking so many of my favorite recipes.
In response, I knew I needed some kind of chopper. I also have a limited income, i.e., as much as I covet a food processor, I just can't afford one. So I researched the mini-choppers and chose this one and I am so happy with my choice.
It does a great job at chopping onions and other veggies too. And as a lover of pesto for pasta all I can say is that it works mighty fine. The two speed pulse switches allow great control for a wide variety of ingredients.I can create soft bread crumbs or chop hard nuts. The 3 cup volume is very usable.
I've recommended this product to friends like me who love to cook but are on a tight budget. For me, it came down to buying a really nice Chef's knife recommended by America's Test Kitchen (R.H. Forschner by Victorinox 8-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle) or a mini-chopper. I bought this one and I am very happy. (I still plan to buy that chef's knife and eventually a full-size food processor.)
