When a recipe calls for measurements in weight--say, 2 pounds of apples for Grandma's killer apple pie--use this small professional kitchen scale instead of guessing. This scale will measure up to 11 pounds or 5 kilograms, whether it's a sack of rice or a bunch of tomatoes. The body and removable bowl are made of noncorrosive stainless steel, and the bowl is held firmly in place by upturned braces. The face is over 6 inches in diameter, so the numbers are huge and easy to read, even when you've got a little flour in your eye. Measurements are printed in pounds (black) and grams (red). We love this scale, it is very helpful while weighing produce, etc. and it is also nice- looking stainless steel.
Great scale January 23, 2008
I was very impressed with the look of the Polder scale. The fact that it is accurate and easy to clean and weigh food is just what I was hoping for. This will last me a life time, so far so good.
I am a professional chef and really needed my work scales at home. I wanted them to look better though!
I found what I was looking for and at a very good price.

I am very happy with this item. I use it as a postage meter, and it works perfectly for this task. Actual postage scales are either too expensive or only do ounces. This goes to 11 lbs, which covers 90% of my needs, otherwise the bathroom scale is accurate enough.
This is also not digital, which appeals to some old timers, like myself.
It is made of lightweight metal, not plastic, and the chrome finish is very nice. Its a good looking retro style scale. Highly recommended.

Excellent for any kitchen duties, would have rather had glass for the face plate but so far the plastic works great and still looks great on my counter, I've used it for several months now before placing the review, have even used it to weigh in my turkey from the freezer when I lost the tag with the weight, I was albe to cook at the appropriate times. Just love my new scales!

I got a scale with black numbers and dial - not red, like the scale in the picture you see. Looks bland, not worth the money I paid for it. Plastic parts. I am returning it right now.
