Amazon.com Review
This unusual rotating waffle maker is sure to elicit admiration from brunch guests. Made of brushed stainless steel with black accents, the unit not only looks elegant but cooks professionally. After ladling the batter into the deep nonstick bottom plate, the top is firmly closed. After ten seconds, by means of the insulated handle, the waffle maker is rotated upside down and allowed to cook for the remainder of the required time (recipes and times are included in the user guide). The result: two perfect 1-1/4-inch-thick Belgium waffles, crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. A dial features variable browning settings, and two lights indicate when the waffle maker is on and when to add batter. Two curved fixed legs keep the maker upright and a drip tray fits between them to collect any batter overflow. A release button on the handle allows it to collapse for storage. Measuring 7-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches, the cook plates can be wiped clean or conveniently removed and placed in the dishwasher. With the handle collapsed, the waffle maker measures 13 by 8-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Product Description
Krups calls it their Expert waffle maker, a handsome appliance that looks unlike any other waffle maker you've ever seen before. The elongated unit makes two large waffles that are a full 1.25-in. deep. An adjustable thermostat can be raised to a higher setting for waffles that are crunchy and crispy; turn the thermostat down and you can use it to re-heat already made waffles without over-browning the second go-round. The cooking plates are removable and dishwasher-safe for ease of cleaning. The stainless exterior is durable, and the insulated handle keeps hands cool and collapses to allow for convenient storage. At the bottom is a nonstick drip tray to catch any batter that spills over during cooking. A red light indicates the power is on; a green light illuminates when the initial cooking temperature is reached. 7.5 x 11.25 x 8-in.

4 out of 5 stars High Quality Waffle Maker   January 7, 2009
I got this for my husband for Christmas. It is well made and works very well. The waffles don't stick at all and we like the temperature adjustment. We would have given it 5 stars if there were a timer or light to let you know when the waffle is done. You have to use an external timer with this one.

1 out of 5 stars Could not have been more disappointed   December 21, 2008
I had very high expectations for this Belgian waffle maker. After 10 months of ownership I have completely given up. The overall design appears well thought out, but functionally the unit is a major disappointment. I followed the directions specifically, then tryed some improvisation to make a waffle come out properly.

To begin with the temperature control knob is a bit sticky and does not move fluidly, I have doubts that the knob switch itself even works as there appears to be only two functions - off and scorched earth. (note I have had bad experiences with Krups switches previously (coffee maker and toaster oven - though I must admit the coffee makers (units 1, 2, and now unit 3) make fine coffee, and we use the toaster oven every single day)) I tried packaged Belgian waffle mix and also a number of scratch recipes, all failed to work in this waffle maker - again I believe it is the switch.

Next, the waffle plates do fit nicely in the unit and have a nice secure feel. My issue with the plates is they are about as nonstick as duct tape. I've trayed spray-on oils, coating with cooking oils, even soaking in cooking oils. Nothing works and you end up having to clean by soaking and scrubbing with a non-abrasive sponge. So where's the advantage over non-removable plates other than you don't soak the whole waffle maker ?

My last ditch effort was a two fold approach, borrow a friend's unit while loaning him this unit - essentially a swap for a day - to see if there some mistake I was unknowingly making. My preference is not to issue criticism of a product, rather to try to figure how to make it work. I had no issues making waffles with my friend's budget waffle maker, and my friend could not make a waffle with this unit either and I consider him a very fine cook. As a Krups fanatic, he also is majorly disappointed. Unfortunately we had to swap back and I now have a $99 door stop. Buyer beware.

5 out of 5 stars This is the one you're looking for!   December 16, 2008
I researched waffle makers online before choosing this one. The plates and drip pan are machine washable so it's easy to clean. The rotary system insures that the waffles turn out nice and crisp on both sides. The waffles are wonderful and breakfasts with waffles have become a Sunday morning ritual. I would highly recommend purchasing The Krups Rotary waffle maker.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT WAFFLE MAKER   November 23, 2008
I did some research on waffle makers and this model Krups received an abundance of great reviews. I now know why! Easy to use and so easy to clean. I like my waffles crispy, almost to the burnt side and the Krups makes waffles just the away I like them. I would recommend the Krups to everyone and I would confidently give it as a gift.

5 out of 5 stars Waffle Magic   November 17, 2008
Krups FDD912 Expert Waffle Maker with Rotary System
After doing a lot of research, I bought this product. No regrets. After adjusting the Aunt Jemima batter by adding more liquid, the waffles were fantastic. I used soy milk too. Clean up is very easy. Drawback, it does not have a timer. I bought a small timer and store it with the waffle maker.
