Best EVER August 30, 2008 This is the 3rd one we have had-Same brand-LOVE IT!!!! Only change I would even suggest is to make them in Stainless Steel- No peeling in cookery bottom then.
Great Slow Cooker July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a Rival 6 qt. programmable crockpot, but it was WAY too hot. It dried everything out even if I used low and switched to warm -- it kept boiling away. I have used this 3-4 times and it seems to cook nice and slow and doesn't dry things out. So far I am VERY pleased.
LOVE IT ! July 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I FOUND THIS SLOW COOKER PERFECT FOR WHAT I NEEDED. IT'S A BIG SIZE FOR STEW AND SOUPS. IT'S VERY NICE LOOKING AND CLEANS UP EASILY. ABOUT THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IS THE CORD IS TOO SHORT. I ALSO DON'T USE THE LOW SETTING, I USE THE NEXT ONE UP, AND EVERYTHING COMES OUT GREAT. GREAT PRICE TOO!
Great crockpot June 7, 2008 I love the versatility of this slow cooker. My mom used an older West Bend crockpot for about ten years, and it was always dependable and worked great. I got her this as a replacement for it only because the finish was starting to come off her other slow cooker - it still worked fine! West Bend is just a great brand, and the way this crockpot is set up as opposed to other crockpots is really superior.
My third West Bend Slow Cooker May 29, 2008 I have worn out two other West Bend slow cookers over the years. This time, I read the reviews on Amazon about the stainless steel one and almost decided against it for the original model. However, the complaints I saw by some of the reviewers-- a bowing of the pot if you put it on the stove top to brown your meat first-- have not come to pass for me. The cooker has a nice "weighty" feel, and I have had no problems with it. I use my slow cooker several times a month when I am home, and I love this new one! It fits nicely with my other stainless steel appliances and does the slow cooking job well.
