Product Description Black and Decker Infrawave Speed Cooking Countertop Oven Named by Wired Magazine as "One of the best Gadgets and Gizmos on the planet in 2007" The Black and Decker Infrawave Speed Cooking Countertop Oven from ActiveForever is a fantastic time saver that provides delicious meals. The ingenious Infrawave technology cooks meat on the outside and on the inside at the same time. The Black and Decker Infrawave Speed Cooking Countertop Oven sends out two types of infrared waves; short, high frequency waves that cook surface molecules and make food crispy, and a long, lower-frequency wave that penetrates into the food to ensure that food is cooked through. The infrared waves heat all of the molecules in the food, not just the H20 molecules, providing moist, juicy entrees, unlike a conventional microwave. Thus resulting in perfectly cooked fish, poultry, and meat in almost half the time! Make faster, healthier meals today! After using the Black and Decker Infrawave Speed Cooking Countertop Oven for a month, your microwave will start to collect dust! When using the Infrawave oven, you will notice your reheated food tastes like the day you made it! If a meal can be reheated; it will taste better and more fresh using the Infrawave oven. The Black and Decker Infrawave Counter Top Oven even has its own setting for reheating food, so you get the perfect time and temperature for delicious, hot reheated meals. Save Time. slow cooking times October 19, 2008 Had to add more time to cook items in most cases. Food cook well. The display does not have a back light making it difficult to see without a lot of light.
Much promise, poor product September 4, 2008 After our beloved Panasonic infrawave toaster oven finally died (which Panasonic no longer makes), we checked the customer ratings and bought this toaster oven (although had I checked Consumer Reports, I would have seen that this oven had one of the lowest ratings for a toaster oven). For the first few days it burned everything it tried to toast, even on the lowest settings; a week later, the bottom infrared elements died, which sort of ended the life of the oven. So, be wary of this product, as there may be some issues with the 'infrawave' heating elements (in fact the manufacturer told the supplier to have us throw it away and only wanted the power cord in return). However, the good news is that the company from which we bought this oven (Active Forever) was great in handling the return, and gave us a full refund.
Happy with this purchase August 16, 2008 We've had this toaster/oven for more than a year now and have been very happy with it. We mostly use it as a toaster and sometimes cook and re-heat with it. It is by far the fastest toaster we have ever had. At first it didn't seem to toast both sides evely (the bottom not toasted as well as the top), but after using it for a while this doesn't seem to be an issue any more. When cooking it is much quicker than a conventional oven. I suppose our only complaint is that it's not easy to figure out how to cook something that specifies a certain temperature and time. I have to look at the manual to be sure of what I'm doing. Overall this has been a great toaser/oven.

I got this oven around Nov 20, 2007. It worked ok at first, but it does take longer to cook most items than advertised. Now it only works in the "toast" category. All other categories start but then all the lights go out, the display goes out and the oven turns off immediately upon touching the "start" key. Pretty expensive "TOASTER!" Also, the racks are very cheaply made.
Hate this contraption! April 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned this for about 6 months now and it is kind of useless in my opinion. The learning curve to operate this thing is ridiculous and it really doesn't seem to cook my food any faster. I put in some frozen mushroom bites recently and the outside burned and the inside was still frozen! I wish that I had sprung for a convection...
