Great product! September 10, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Sunpentown is a great product. I owned SoyaJoy, also a great product, but it failed after 15 months of one batch a day usage. But I think I had my money worth on SoyaJoy. I used to make soy milk manually (blender or grinder, cheesecloth filter, oven top cooking, and then cleaning afterwards), and that is what you call labor intensive. With these modern automatic soy milk makers, life is a lot easier. Sunpentown soy milk maker produces better soy milk than most of other similar makers out there, because its filter basket has finer holes that keeps most of the grainy stuff out of the milk, so the milk taste very similar to the milk I manually made. Cleaning Sunpentown is also easier than most of other makers, because of the heating element is actually attached to the milk container, instead of attaching to the head unit (grinding motor) which is always in the way when cleaning the unit head, not to mention it adds weight to the head also. Just be very careful the blades are really sharp. Follow the instruction carefully, and you will enjoy using this soy milk maker. From reviews of most of soy milk makers I read, a lot of people try to compare the soy milk these machine made with store bought manufactured soy milk and complain about they taste no good. They are comparing oranges to apples. You should compare the milk these machine made to the manually made plain soy milk, then you will know how great these machine really are. Me and my whole family love the Sunpentown and the soy milk it makes, and I do hope it will last longer than the SoyaJoy that I used to enjoy a lot.
Great product May 22, 2008 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I owned my first soybean milk maker by Sunpentown for more than 10 years and loved it very much. This time I needed a new one, so I researched a quite bit to see if other makers were catching up with Sunpentown and had anything better. Eventually I still decided to stay with Sunpentown and bought this model.
After a few months of using this one, I am not disappointed. It works great. This model has a new(additional) setting(that my old one did not have) which allows using dry beans directly without soaking them first. I have not tried the new setting yet. I still soak the beans first as an old habit.
Also this model comes with a sturdy holder so when the central part is pulled out from the stainless steel pitcher, it can be securely placed in the holder, instead of inconveniently laying it on kitchen countertop or sink. I love this feature.
I would recommend this product to anyone who likes soybean milk.
