One beater kept falling out March 27, 2010 Queen Jane Approximately (New York City) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Whipped cream in record time, but the same can be said of the speed with which one of the beaters kept falling into the bowl. This beater just couldn't be seated securely. I emailed Cuisinart describing the problem and suggesting they pay more attention to quality control two or three weeks ago. They have yet to respond.
I returned the Cuisinart and bought a Proctor Silex, which doesn't have elegant whisk-style blades but at least these stay in place.
I read about this problem here but took a chance and bought it anyway.
Great 'lil beater March 12, 2010 Golfnandy (No. Cal.) The Cuisinart HM-50 hand mixer is fairly quiet. The speed selection is good. The "shaftless" beaters are very easy to clean and best of all is the beater release button. Very convenient.
Nice power, but don't like the beaters March 6, 2010 j hougelman (pennsylvania) We use this in a restaurant, and it whips up many mashed potatoes with no problem, but when we make whipped cream with it, we get white splatter patterns everwhere, no matter the speed. The old walmart beaters never did that, and the standard old style beaters don't fit, so that's not an option either. So if you'll be whipin wet stuff, keep this in mind, or have a sponge handy
Cuisinart hdm-50 h mixer February 14, 2010 Douglas S. Malkemus (Texas/Colorado) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was a gift to wife, she says it is only okay cause it does not have a low speed control. Should have a low speed because it throws all the mix everywhere
do to it running at the higher speed when it comes on, after you clean up the mess it
is okay mixer.
Tried to get it Right Husband.
Tough guy, but a tad messy. February 3, 2010 Lovestoast! (USA) Using this mixer is a bit like having Hercules take out the trash bag...a little overkill, but the job gets done! The lowest speed is VERY peppy, and unless you've got the beaters well down into the bowl, you're going to be wiping stuff off the toaster and the backsplash in your kitchen. BUT, it works very well, the beaters pop in and out with ease, and it has plenty of power for the biggest bowl of cooked spuds waiting to be mashed. Buy it, but use a tall bowl...
