best coffee maker I've ever had September 17, 2008 very well designed - it feels great in the hand. and makes great coffee. and keeps it hot. I also love the light that lets you know how long the coffee's been made - I don't know why, but for some reason, it's very nice to know.
I agree with other reviewers it would be nice to have a window onto the water resevoir, but I love this coffee maker so much that this lack does not detract.
KitchenAid 14-cup programmable coffee maker September 7, 2008 Makes a good cup of coffee. Easy to use. Great to have a 14 cup!
Beware August 28, 2008 I purchased this coffee maker Nov. 2007 and 9 months later I'm without my coffee because the heating element went out on it. I have to ship in my receipt, wait for them to process it, and wait again for them to ship me my new coffee maker. For the price, I'm sure there are better quality products out there. If you do buy, be sure to keep your receipt.
The Worst Coffee Pot EVER! July 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife worked at Starbucks and we bought this from her Starbucks store. It looked nice and we thought Kitchen Aid made good products.
It is extremely difficult to clean. On many occassions coffee grounds have clogged it and subsequently coffee doesn't go into the pot and overflows. This has happened on many occassions, it happened just now and that is why I am writing this review. I had a Braun coffee maker and never had this problem.
It is somewhat wasteful. Because the pot is insulated, you have to run warm water through it to heat it up.
Most importantly, it makes an inconsistent cup of coffee. We have changed the water filter but it still makes coffee with a funny taste. It isn't user error, it is the coffee maker.
Bottom line, don't buy this coffee maker! You will be extremely disappointed.
No problems. Great machine. July 13, 2008 I haven't had any overflow or other kinds of problems with unit. It's solidly built, easy to use & makes great coffee, as long as you read & follow the directions. It's also quite beautiful & goes well with my red wide-mouth Dualit toaster (highly recommended too).
