Food Processor January 7, 2009 This is a great food processor and was a good bargain. It was a Christmas gift for my daughter, who is a fantastic cook! She had it unpacked and in use the day after Christmas.
food processor January 7, 2009 I am very happy with my food processor. I shopped everywhere and found the best price on amazon.
Flawed design January 6, 2009 My husband bought this KitchenAid for me for Christmas after reading a Cooks Illustrated review. After one use and one wash in the dishwasher, the bowl (which is double-lined) took on water and food particles between the walls of the bowl. In addition to the sanitary issues, the obvious aesthetic issues are concerns. The double-walled bowl is a good feature but the walls are not properly sealed at the handle which allows food and water to enter between the walls. We will be returning this defective unit.
Great food processor with a couple of flaws December 31, 2008 I picked up this KitchnAid food processor from a recommendation from Americas Test Kitchen. The food processor works great mostly; has a couple things I don't like about it. Firstly there is an awesome ATK recipe for pound cake that is mixed in the food processor. The problem is the batter comes over the middle attachment. So if I were to take the bowl off of the motor housing, the batter would spill everywhere. My husband has to come and tip the entire food processor so I can scrape the batter into the pan. Another issue is if using one of the blade attachments, when done processing, the blade is a struggle to get off. And the blade needs to come off to get the bowl off. Lastly, after owning the food processor for 360 days (usually daily use in winter, and a couple times a week in summer) the handle on the bowl broke. Replacement bowl $45.00.
Would I buy this machine again? Definitely yes.
