I am so frightened August 22, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was so terrified by all the horrible reviews on Panasonic microwaves I have read on Amazon. I had no idea the quality of microwaves had depreciated so much since I last purchased one 10 years ago.
Alas, nothing lasts forever and my trustworthy Sharp Carousel finally hit the dust. Being in dire need of a replacement I went out the next day and got this model. I picked it because it still had a smaller footprint than many with as much power as it offers. 1300 Watts is nothing to sneeze at. So I got it.
So far, it works like a champ. So, for it being nearly new, I would rate it 5 stars. Since there are so many negative reviews circulating about this and other Panasonic models, I am carefully counting the days until this luxury of having 1300 Watts of micro-power is over. I am knocking off 1 point now for the amount of worry I have over this purchase and its longevity. If and when it dies on me, I will add an addendum to this review.
Great product! July 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace a 20 year old Panasonic microwave that finally bit the dust. This is a VERY nice microwave. Very powerful, and lots of nice features at a very attractive price. It's big enough to hold a full size dinner plate but fits nicely on the countertop. Ours gets daily use and so far we are extremely pleased with it. I would highly recommend it - I fully expect that it will give me the same good service that I got from my previous Panasonic microwave.
Only partial stainless finish. Poor LED. Low overall quality. July 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Only the front fascia is stainless steel. The cover is some sort of silvery speckled metal finish. The LED is on the dim side, and is nearly impossible to read unless your eyes are perfectly level with the display. The quality of the metals and the overall construction seems low. The metals are thin and soft. My unit (ordered direct from Amazon) arrived with damage - various dents in the cover - but it appears to only be cosmetic. I'm not going to bother to return it due to the cost of return shipping expense. The factory packaging is not very protective, so check your unit carefully. Even though this is a low-cost model, I'm nonetheless disappointed. It seems to heat o.k., so if it manages to last for a while I suppose I will be get my money's worth out of it.
